Watershed Resource Management
The
1998 legislature passed ESHB 2514, codified into RCW 90.82 to set a
framework for developing local solutions to watershed issues on a
watershed basis. Kitsap
County
serves as the administrative lead for developing a water resource
management plan for Water Resource Inventory Area 15 (WRIA 15).
WRIA 15 includes all of Kitsap County
and portions of Mason and
Pierce
Counties
as well as Vashon Island in King County.
Development
of the water resource management plan is the responsibility of the
Planning Unit, which is comprised of representatives from four
counties, five cities, four tribal governments, four major water
purveyors and citizens and interest groups in WRIA 15. For more
information on the Planning Unit contact Keith Folkerts.
For
more information on water resource management and water quality plan
implementation contact Keith Folkerts,
