Personnel Reception
Office Hours will be 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Monday through Thursday
The Personnel Division is responsible for providing superior
and responsive services toward the acquisition, development and retention of
a diverse and competitive work force for county government. The
Personnel Division provides personnel, labor relations, employee benefits, and training services for all county
office and departments.
Specific Functions performed by the division
include:

wage studies
-
employee classification reviews and development of
classification specifications
-
job announcements, postings, screening, and interviews
-
EEO reviews and reports
-
administration and coordination of the employee benefit
program
-
maintenance of employee records information
-
new employee orientation and training
-
contract negotiations and administration;
employee/management relations
-
coordination and administration of the county's Employee
Assistance, Employee Recognition, and Drug & Alcohol Testing Programs
-
investigation of complaints relating to discrimination and
sexual harassment and other misconduct
-
Department Director serving as the chief examiner for the
Sheriff's Civil Service Commission
Who Is Served?
The division provides:
-
information, assistance, and coordination of benefits for
approximately 1,150 employees working in the county's 20 offices and
departments
-
information to prospective job applicants
-
review and screening of applications for job openings
within Kitsap County
-
assistance to all county offices and departments in
complying with:
-
applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
-
collective bargaining agreements affecting over 60% of
county employees
-
county personnel policies and resolutions
-
implementation of discipline
-
responses to grievances and complaints
