Yard Waste Amnesty Day North Mason Fiber Company

(Port Orchard, WA) – Kitsap and Mason County residents may bring yard waste to the Yard Waste Amnesty Day at North Mason Fiber Company on April 18, 2009. There will be no fees charged for this event.

Businesses, landscapers, or commercial vehicles will be charged at the normal rate. There is no volume restriction for residential customers. 

Materials accepted:

• woody debris

• brush

• grass

• stumps and branches

• lumber, plywood, and OSB (painted okay, but keep separate)

Material NOT accepted:

• pressure treated lumber

• railroad ties

• garbage, plastics

• tires

• scrap metal

• household hazardous waste

ü Remember to cover and secure your load. 
      Fines range from a $216 traffic violation to $5,000 fine and jail time if
      something falls out of your vehicle and causes bodily harm.

ü Recycle and Garbage facilities will not accept yard waste for free

This program is part of an ongoing effort by Kitsap County Public Works to provide recycling alternatives to outdoor burning. The public may recycle their yard waste at North Mason Fiber Company year round seven days a week. Call 360-275-0228 for hours and fees.
