Kitsap Cares About
Kids Challenge
Kitsap County Leaders Take the Challenge and Make
the Pledge to Support the Community's Youth
(Port Orchard, WA) – Kitsap County leaders in
government, business, and youth services will join together on Tuesday, May
12, 2009 at the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside at 11:15
a.m. to take the “Kitsap Cares About Kids” Challenge.
Kitsap Cares About Kids is a three year community awareness and fundraising
campaign designed to motivate businesses, individuals and organizations to
strengthen their relationships with young people.
Sponsored by the Commission on Children and Youth, this campaign is designed
to leverage private funding for positive youth development programs in
Kitsap County. By joining together the public and private sectors, Kitsap
Cares About Kids promotes positive youth development through investing
resources in programs, services and opportunities to increase developmental
assets.
Developmental Assets are positive experiences and personal qualities that
young people need to grow up healthy, caring, and responsible.
Former Kitsap County Commissioner and Campaign Co-Chair, Patty Lent,
explains “Your support of Kitsap Cares About Kids is not just about donating
money – but it is about inspiring people to engage with children and youth
in many different ways. You will have an opportunity to make a commitment of
your time and talents!”
This is the last year of the campaign.

-
Increased public and private
investments in youth programs by over $305,000.
