Frequently Asked QuestionsCould there be a Level 3 offender living in my neighborhood? There may be, but keep in mind that only a small percentage of offenders are classified as Level 3. In fact, many areas of Kitsap County have few, if any registered Level 3 offenders. The total population of Kitsap County is over 270,000. Level 3 offenders represent only .0003% of our total population. Should you be overly concerned about Level 3 offenders? While you should be concerned about Level 3 offenders, only a very small percentage of offenders are classified as Level 3, which is less than .01% of the total number of registered sex offenders. Is there a database of sex offenders residing in Washington State that we can search? The Washington State Sheriff and Police Chiefs Association maintain a statewide database of level 2 and 3 sex offenders that can be searched. The link for the site is on the right. What are the different sex offender levels and what do they mean? The vast majority of the individuals are classified as Level 1 or Level 2 offenders.
What information is Released? The State of Washington has strict laws that govern the information that can be disclosed about registered sex offenders. In accordance with these laws, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office provides the following information for Level 3 offenders only:
