Treecycling Begins

Port Orchard–The countywide treecycle program begins after the holiday at several sites throughout the county. Residents are reminded to remove all nails, tinsel, lights, and ornaments before bringing their tree in. Flocked trees cannot be accepted.
Treecycling is a tradition for Kitsap County residents. Last year residents treecycled over 2800 holiday trees which were used as mulch in a variety of landscape projects. County chipping crews can drop off chips at accessible residences near their chipping locations while quantities last (there is no guarantee). To get on the "free chips" list, download the form at www.kitsapgov.com/sw or call The Open Line at 360-337-5777.
