Treecycling Begins December 26th

PORT ORCHARD — The countywide treecycling program begins December 26 and runs through January 15 at the locations listed below (except where noted). Trees will be accepted during regular business hours, except on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The recycling and garbage facilities also close early on December 24 (1 pm) and December 31 (2 pm).

County crews will drop off chips at accessible residences near their chipping locations while quantities last. To get on the “free chips” list, download the form at www.kitsapgov.com/sw or call The Open Line at 360-337-5777.

Residents are reminded to remove all nails, tinsel, lights, and ornaments before recycling their tree. Flocked trees cannot be accepted because they are potentially harmful to the environment. Also, please do not bring wreaths or garland.
