Assessor's Office
Honors Outstanding Employees!

Laura Curry has been named the Assessor's Employee of the Quarter.  Laura is a member of our cadastral group.  She has shown great initiative and dedication in learning to read and follow complex legal descriptions and being able to draw them in AutoCAD.  She alternately processes excises, completes taxpayer requests, and interacts with the various cities in order to process address correction requests in a timely and correct manner.  While keeping up with her Cadastral responsibilities, Laura assisted with the back log of personal property processing.  Most recently Laura has started processing plats.  Her dedication to producing quality work, her willingness to be flexible and move to whatever project needs her attention along with her friendly, helpful nature are what make her a great employee.

George Wolfe has been named the Assessor's
 Equalizer of the Year
.  The Equalizer of the year award is given to the residential appraiser who achieves the best measure of uniformity when all his or her sales during a specified period of time are compared to assessed values. The deviation statistic used for evaluation is the coefficient of dispersion.

When end of the year (2007) statistics were compiled George prevailed in close competition between his fellow residential appraisers.

Tammera Beverage has been named the Assessor's Employee of the Year. In addition to learning her new job as a Commercial Appraiser very well, Tammera has enthusiastically embraced the very technical and challenging job of "Current Use Administrator". Under her guidance, over the past year, additional current use duties (previously done by the Department of Community Development) have been assumed and a record number of properties have been processed out of the program, resulting in a record amount of compensating taxes collected.
