2012 Special Election Highlights

There will be a Special Election on April 17 for all registered
voters in the following jurisdictions in Kitsap County:
 

  • Mason County Fire Protection District No. 2, Emergency Medical Services Regular Property Levy
  • South Kitsap Fire and Rescue District, Proposition No. 1, Temporary Property Tax Limit Increase
  • Port of Manchester District No. 10, Proposition No. 1, Reduction in Port Commissioner Terms of Office

Voter Registration Deadlines for this Election

  • March 19: Mail and online voter registration changes
  • April 9: In-person voter registration for citizens not currently registered in Washington state

Ballots Mailed

  • March 16: Military and overseas voters
  • March 28: All registered voters in Kitsap County

Replacement Ballots

  • April 9: If you do not receive a ballot by this date, contact the Kitsap County Auditor - Elections Division for a replacement ballot

Ballot Processing

  • Don’t forget to sign the return envelope after you mark your ballot
  • Return your ballot to a drop site before 8 p.m. Election Day or
  • Ballots must be mailed early enough to ensure they are postmarked by April 17

Accessible Voting Units (AVU) are available at the Kitsap County Auditor – Elections Division, 619 Division Street, Port Orchard: 

  • March 30-April 16: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Election Day, April 17: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday

Kitsap County will post election results here: www.kitsapgov.com/aud/elections.

  • Election results are scheduled to post at 8:15 p.m., April 17
  • Subsequent counts will post at approx. 5 p.m. intermittently until certification of the Election on April 27

  • 42 percent
