Proposition No. 1
Temporary Property Tax Limit Increase
The South Kitsap Fire and Rescue (SKFR) Board of
Commissioners adopted
Resolution 2012-01 proposing renewal of a temporary
increase in the property tax limit. The purpose of this six-year
measure is to provide revenue needed to continue employing twenty
Firefighter/EMT’s/Paramedics by avoiding a reduction in the annual levy of
approximately $1,800,000. This measure would authorize SKFR to levy up
to $1.48 per $1,000 of assessed value for collection beginning in 2013.
The first year’s authorized levy amount would be used to compute the levy
limitations for each of the five years after 2013 under Chapter 84.55 RCW.
