Bremerton Kitsap Public Access Television (BKAT)
Advisory Committee

Function/Purpose
The committee serves as an advisory body to the City of Bremerton Council, the Mayor of Bremerton and Kitsap County Commissioners to promote and develop optimal utilization of the Public Access Television system. The committee meets quarterly in January, April, July and October to make general recommendations regarding issues relating to services and facilities provided to subscribers and users of the system. The committee also provides a forum for citizen complaints and concerns regarding use of facilities, programming and other related issues. The committee submits an annual report to the Bremerton City Council and Kitsap County Board of Commissioners regarding activities of the committee and station programming; and performs other duties as requested by the City Council, Mayor or County Commissioners.

Established
The Public Access Citizens Advisory Committee acts solely as an advisory body to the City of Bremerton Council, the Mayor and the Kitsap County Commissioners to promote and develop optimal utilization of the Public Access Television system.

Membership
The committee consists of 12 members. The Mayor, with confirmation of the City Council, and the County Commissioners, appoint members to the committee: (1) One staff member representing the City of Bremerton (City appointment); (2) One staff member representing Kitsap County (County appointment); (3-4) Two members representing users of the station (one City, one County appointment); (5-7) One community member representing each of the three Commissioner Districts (County appointments); (8) One community member representing the City of Bremerton (City appointment); (9) One youth member (City appointment); (10) One Education representative; (11) One Poulsbo community representative (City of Poulsbo appointment); and (12) One Bainbridge Island community representative (City of Bainbridge Island appointment).

Meeting Time And Location
Meetings take place 5-7 p.m. quarterly in January, April, July and October on the fourth Thursday of each month at the BKAT office.
