Kingston Citizens Advisory Council

Announcements

The next meeting of KCAC will feature a presentation from the Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management on the essentials of disaster preparedness. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting which runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Village Green Community Center, 26159 Dulay Road NE, Kingston.

Dave Rasmussen, public educator and public information officer for Emergency Management, will give a presentation designed to provide essential information on preparing for, and recovering from a disaster. He will address primary disaster risks here in Western Washington, and the likelihood of losing immediate access to transportation and communication resources in a major disaster.

This information is meant to empower and strengthen community and individual resiliency to disasters. The “Map Your Neighborhood” strategy, in which neighbors can support each other in times of disaster, will also be introduced.
