Board of Equalization

Function/Purpose
Avenue allowed by State Statute for real and personal property owners to challenge the Assessor's valuation. Appeal forms may be obtained at the Kitsap County Administration Building 619 Division Street Room 441, Kitsap County Commissioners Office and the Kitsap County Assessors Office.  Original forms must be mailed to Kitsap County Board of Equalization, 614 Division Street, MS-8,  Port Orchard, WA 98366

Membership
The Board of Equalization consists of not less than three or more than seven members for three year terms.  Currently the board has five seated members.  The Board of Commissioners has the option of reappointing a member or appointing a new member from their district.

Meeting Time and Location
Meetings are held at the Kitsap County Administration Building 619 Division Street Room 442 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday of each tax season.
