The Kitsap Public Facilities District (KPFD) is an independent
municipal corporation serving Kitsap County. Established by the Board
of County Commissioners in June, 2000, the purpose of the KPFD is to
build, improve and operate sports, recreation, entertainment and
conference facilities. Funding has come from a non-voted sales tax
rebate and in the future may in include private donations and
voter-approved sales tax. The County Commissioners appoint the seven
member board of directors for four-year, renewable terms.
