East Kitsap Salmon Habitat 
Restoration Committee

Function/Purpose
The Mission of the East Kitsap Salmon Habitat Restoration Committee is to ensure local salmon habitat is preserved and 
restored for current and future generations.

The primary tasks of the committee are to:

1) Provide a regional strategy for salmon recovery throughout the portion of the Kitsap Peninsula that drains into Puget Sound 
(including Bainbridge Island and western Pierce County).

2) Solicit salmon habitat restoration project proposals from private and public sponsors and seek funding for these
 projects from the states Salmon Recovery Funding Board and other sources.

Established
To fulfill the requirements of the citizen's committee pursuant to RCW 75.46 (HB2496 Salmon Habitat Recovery Funding Act).

Membership
The Committee shall consist of 7 to 15 members appointed by the Board 
of Commissioners.  Members shall be appointed to serve a three-year term.
