                        KITSAP COUNTY
                          BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
                                        (Special Meeting)
                     January 3, 2005

The Board of Commissioners met on the above-stated date.  Present 
were Chair Chris Endresen, Commissioner Jan Angel, Commissioner 
Patty Lent, County Administrator Malcolm Fleming and Clerk of the 
Board Opal Robertson. (THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS' PUBLIC MEETINGS AND 
PUBLIC HEARINGS ARE AUDIO AND VIDEO TAPED). 



3:30)	Meeting Called to Order with Pledge of Allegiance.

ITEMS SET FOR TIME CERTAIN:
 
3:30) PM  	Resolution recognizing and welcoming the USS Stennis (CVN 74) 
permanent home port change to Kitsap County. Staff Contact: Don Burger, 337-4578.

Discussion was held, comments called for and hearing no objection, a motion was made 
by Commissioner Lent and seconded by Commissioner Angel that the Board adopts 
Resolution No. 001-2005* thereby recognizing and welcoming the USS Stennis (CVN 74) 
permanent home port change to Kitsap County. Motion carries unanimously.

3:30) PM  	Deliberate and make possible decision on the Information Services Director 
and the Department of Community Development Director positions. Staff Contact: 
Malcolm Fleming, 337-7146. 

Discussion was held, comments received and hearing no objection, a motion was made by 
Commissioner Lent and seconded by Commissioner Angel that the Board appoints Bud 
Harris to serve as Information Services Director and further directs the County 
Administrator to negotiate an employment contract.  Motion carries unanimously.

Discussion was held, comments received and hearing no objection, a motion was made by 
Commissioner Angel and seconded by Commissioner Lent that the Board appoints Cindy 
Baker to serve as Community Development Director and further directs the County 
Administrator to negotiate an employment contract.  Motion carries unanimously.

OTHER BUSINESS AND CONSENT ITEMS:

1)	MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS:

A motion was made by Commissioner Lent and seconded by Commissioner Angel that the 
Board:

A.	Approve Minutes of November 15 & 22, 2004 and December 6 &13, 2004.

Motion carries unanimously.

Public meeting adjourned at 3:45 PM.
