Summary
of all Board of County Commissioner Meetings
The Board of Commissioners convenes seven types of meeting.
1.
Regular business meetings are held biweekly on the
second and fourth Monday of each month, except for state holidays,
at 10:00 a.m. in the commissioners' meeting room. Agenda topics and Agenda
Summaries (eight copies) should be scheduled through the Clerk of the Board
a minimum of fourteen calendar days prior to the desired presentation date.
·
Work sessions are informal meetings held without any set agenda to
provide the opportunity for Commissioners to advise each other and the
Administrator of significant events, actions or meetings that are likely to
generate public calls or media questions or otherwise may be of interest to the
other Commissioners. Work sessions are held biweekly on Mondays at 10:00 a.m. in
the commissioners’ conference room whenever there is not a regular business
meeting scheduled or a state holiday.
·
Work Study meetings with the
administrator and department heads are held on Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. in the
third floor conference room of the Public Works Building. Work Study meetings
are held according to a specific agenda to (A) review the issues scheduled on
the agenda for the upcoming regular meeting, (B) provide quick summaries of
issues of importance to the Board, and (C) review in detail specific issues that
typically affect multiple departments and for which the presenter has submitted
an executive summary at least ten days prior to the work study meeting. Work
Study briefings are scheduled through the Commissioner's Office Administrative
Coordinator.

discussions to ensure that the Board’s limited time is focused on the highest
priority issues, (C) issues the Administrator discussed with the Management team
during their previous weekly meeting and issues the Board wants the
Administrator to raise with the Management Team, and (D) to regularly review and
revise as necessary the Board’s Policy Manual.
Briefings with the administrator and other invited staff are held
on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. in the commissioners' conference room. Briefing
