Waaga Way Connector Roads Process
In February 2008, Kitsap County Commissioner's Office and Department of Public Works embarked on a process to locate a connector road system that is intended to link properties within the area to the new Waaga Way Extension Road. This process is also coordinated with the Department of Community Development's work to extend the Silverdale Design Guidelines in the newly designed commercial and business center lands, located north and south of the Extension Road. Ad-hoc Citizen Advisory Committees have been established to participate in the development of the connector road alignment and design guidelines. Noted below is information related to the establishment of the connector road system. Please visit the Department of Community Development for information related to the design guidelines process.
Note: Meetings, location and agenda items are subject to change.
In August 2008, Kitsap County released draft amendments to the Silverdale Sub-Area Plan as it relates to the location and design of the Waaga Way Connector Roads. The proposed amendments include goal and policy revisions to the sub-area plan regarding connector road alignment, design, as well as overall intent of the roadways. Specifically, the amendments provide policy guidance on the conceptual location and design of the connector roads. Noted below are the proposed amendments to the Silverdale Sub-Area and other related documents.
Agencies, affected tribes, and members of the public are encouraged to comment on the proposed amendments through a comment period.
