Passport Information

Beginning January 23, 2007, ALL PERSONS traveling by AIR between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean region are required to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter the United States.  For more information, including requirements for  Land and Sea Travel, visit:  http://travel.state.gov/travel/cbpmc/cbpmc_2223.html

All Passport Applicants MUST appear in Person
(including minors under age 16)

The Passport Card:
Beginning February 1, 2008, customers will now have the option to apply for a Passport Card which may only be used for land and sea travel between the Unites States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean.  For more information visit:  http://travel.state.gov/passport/ppt_card/ppt_card_3926.html

Applications for passports may be obtained at the Kitsap County Clerk's Office or you may download them at: http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/forms_847.html

To obtain a passport you must have the following items:

  • Proof of Citizenship: certified copy of Birth Certificate, previous passport, or Certificate of Naturalization
  • 2 official passport photos, 2 X 2 inches (Now available in the Clerk's Office for $10)
  • Valid photo identification
  • Applicant's social security number

Special requirements for Children under age 16 effective February 1, 2008.   Both parents or child's legal guardian must:

  • Present evidence of child's U.S. citizenship and
  • Present evidence that they are the parents or guardian and
  • Show valid personal identification and
  • Sign and take oath before an authorized passport acceptance agent
  • If either parent is unable to appear, the absent parent must provide a notarized statement of consent, which includes the child's name and date of birth, authorizing passport issuance

Passports for age 16 and over are valid for 10 years; for under age 16 they are valid for 5 years.

(The Kitsap County Clerk's office does not accept
credit cards for passport services).

Processing Fees to be paid by cash or a SEPARATE check or money order payable to "KITSAP COUNTY CLERK" for each application

Acceptance Hours:  8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

EXPEDITED PASSPORT:

In order to expedite service for your passport, you must pay an additional $60.00 fee per application.  See Clerk for Rush Passport details.
