How to Obtain an Address

Addresses are assigned in conjunction with the building permit application process in accordance with Kitsap County Code Chapter 16.60. Addresses will not be assigned to vacant land.

The Residential Address Request/Verification Form and the Commercial Address Request/Verification Form can be obtained from the Department of Community Development Customer Counter or from the Forms and Brochures link on the right navigation bar on this page.

Fill out the address form completely. You will be notified of your new address upon issuance of the Building Permit. There is no additional charge when associated with a Building Permit.

If you have property that is part of a Short Plat or have four (4) or more houses located on one access road, you may have an access road that should be named for the Enhanced 911 system. See Petition For Road Name.

Once you receive a new address, it is your responsibility to contact the Post Office and any others concerned.

If the address is not used for mail delivery, you are still required to give the physical address to your local telephone company. All the information you transmit to the telephone company goes directly into the Enhanced 911 system.

Post 4" numbers on residence and have the address posted at the beginning of the driveway if you cannot see the residence from the road.

Please fill out the Address Correction Form if you feel the physical address we have for your parcel is incorrect.

Please call the DCD Addressing Technician with address and road name questions at (360) 337-7181.
