Shooting Range Operational Permit

The Department of Community Development (DCD) has developed proposed code for a Shooting Range Operational Permit for citizens residing in Kitsap County.
DCD’s intent is to keep this an open and transparent process for all who wish to be involved. Therefore, this website will be the main source for updates about this project; including associated materials on this subject, meeting times/ locations, and how you can be involved.


The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting and a Public Hearing on July 30, 2014, beginning at the hour of 3 PM, at the Silverdale Beach Hotel’s East and West Bay Room located at 3073 NW Bucklin Hill Road Silverdale for the Review Committee’s proposed Operational Shooting Permit Ordinance. To accommodate the general public’s work schedules, the Commissioners plan to keep the hearing open until the early evening with an intermission of a dinner break, which has not been set at this time.  Below are the documents for the Public Hearing:

Please note that each comment has been scanned individually and has an associated number that corresponds with the Comment Catalogue (the second column titled “Scanned Comment No.” reflects the corresponding number). 

Additionally, a hard copy of all comments will be at the Department of Community Development’s front counter for the public to view at any time.

The comment period for the “10.24 Review Committee” was closed on November 8, 2012, however if you have additional comments they will be forwarded onto the Board of County Commissioners. If you would like to provide comments, or have any issues accessing the FTP site please contact

On January 14, 2013 the Board of County Commissioners approved amendments to Kitsap County Code Title 10.24.105 to add Bremerton Trap and Skeet Club to the membership of the Review Committee.
Below you will find the ordinance adopting the amendments.
