The Kitsap County Department of Community Development, in cooperation with the Special Projects Division of the Office of the Board of County Commissioners and Kitsap County Department of Public Works, are working toward the Waaga Way Extension Project. 

The Department of Community Development's portion of this project is to extend the Silverdale Design Guidelines into industrial an commercial land located north of State Highway 3.  For information on other portions of the project, please contact Special Projects or Public Works.

The Board of County Commissioners adopted the Silverdale Design Guidelines on May 5, 2007 by Ordinance Number 381-2007.  The Design Guidelines strive to provide a pedestrian-friendly environment in Silverdale by establishing guidelines for developers to follow when developing land within the Silverdale Urban Growth Area.

The Department of Community Development

Development held stakeholder meetings in April 2008.  Based on comments received, staff drafted draft language for the Waaga Way Design District.  Draft language is being examined for consistency with the Waaga Way Extension Project and the Waaga Way Connector Road Project.  Final draft document will be posted soon.
