INTRODUCTION:

Beginning in February 2008, Kitsap County Department of Community Development staff, in conjunction with local citizens will begin work on a planning study for Illahee, with the goal of preparing a community plan.  Illahee has previously been identified by the County as a part of the Central Kitsap Urban Growth Area.

The intent of a community plan is to recognize what Illahee residents appreciate about their community and develop the standards and regulations to preserve those distinguished characteristics. 

Once the plan is developed and approved by the Board of County Commissioners, it becomes a legal document that establishes standards and guidelines that will be adhered to by the community for future development. 

This plan will be developed under the guidelines established in the Kitsap County Comprehensive Plan, the County-wide Planning Policies, and the Washington State Growth Management Act.
