Manchester Community Plan
The original Manchester Community Plan was adopted on March 12, 2002 after an extensive public process. Through that Plan, goals and policies were set for Zoning and Development Regulations, Transportation, Natural Systems, Parks and Public Facilities and Public Infrastructure. An update to the Manchester Community Plan was adopted on December 17, 2007 after another extensive public process. Through the update, goals and policies were adopted and Design Standards were created and made part of Kitsap County Code, Title 17. Manchester Design Standards

In February 2007, the Kitsap County Department of Community Development, together with citizens from Manchester, began working on a set of commercial design standards. These design standards were completed and became a vital part of the Manchester Community Plan when adopted on December 17, 2007.

Manchester Community Plan Update

Introduction

In February 2007, the Kitsap County Department of Community Development (DCD), Community Planning Division, in concert with Manchester citizens, began an update to the Manchester Community Plan. The original community plan was adopted March 18, 2002. Through that process, the Manchester community became a Limited Area of More Intense Rural Development (LAMIRD), developed a vision for how the community should look in the future and provided development guidelines to steer development in a direction that would maintain the community character of Manchester. Through the Manchester Community Plan 2007 Update, the community brought the plan up to date and created development and design standards to ensure high-quality development in Manchester.
