The Fire Marshal’s office issues two kinds of permits – operational permits and construction permits.

Construction permits are required to install or modify fire protection and other systems including:

Fire sprinkler systems
Fire alarm systems
Standpipe systems
Fire pumps
Flammable and combustible liquid systems including tanks

Operational permits are required for persons or businesses to engage in certain activities and operations including:

Operating a place of assembly
Carnivals and fairs
Storage, use or handling of hazardous materials
Cutting and welding
Pyrotechnics and fireworks

The Fire Marshal also reviews and approves applications submitted for new land development and building construction or remodeling.  For more information see the Kitsap County Fire Marshal's website.
