Mid-Reach Maps
During the Summer and early Fall of 2007, Kitsap County field crews inventoried the Eastern saltwater shoreline and collected a variety of information concerning environmental stressors and conditions.

The unit of division of the shoreline is described as a Reach, and one part of the inventory involved measuring a number of different factors at the midpoint of each of these reaches.
The maps below illustrate some of the more important information collected within each Reach for a variety of environmental conditions. These mid-point conditions represent the average overall condition seen within that individual reach during the time of the inventory.

Note, the Hi-Resolution files are very large and may take several minutes to download.
Overhanging Structures
This map depicts the quantities of Overhanging vegetation along the shoreline within each Reach.
Quantities of Overhanging Vegetation were grouped into 4 classifications, and the percentage of those groups are shown here:
0-25% = 70%
25-50% = 12%,
50-75% = 9%
75-100% = 10%

Buoys Per Reach
This map shows the number of those buoys within each shoreline reach.
Major Substrate
This map depicts the major substrate material found along the shoreline within each Reach. Major Substrate is defined as the makeup of 50% or more of the ground surface material.
Large Woody Debris
Defined as logs having drifted ashore by tides or storms; approx. 1.5 ft. diameter and larger. This map describes the Large Woody Debris (LWD) found within each Reach. LWD was absent on 59% of the reaches inventoried. It was Present on 41%.
