Natural Resources Division

The Natural Resources Division in Community Development is responsible for conducting watershed planning and implementation, coordinating water resource management planning for the Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) 15, acting as the lead entity for salmon habitat restoration planning and projects in the East Kitsap portion of WRIA 15 and coordinating public involvement in monitoring and restoration activities through the Kitsap County Stream Team.  In addition, the section provides public education and information, as well as involvement opportunities for the citizens in Kitsap County in natural resource related topics and issues.

To all Chico Creek Planting Volunteers,

THANK YOU for volunteering to plant at Chico Creek! Your hard work will be paying off especially in April and May when its raining! With your critical help, we planted more than 4,000 native trees and shrubs at the Chico Creek restoration site at Kitsap Golf and Country Club.

Please come back and visit the site when the chum salmon come back in late October.
