     Information Services is committed to applying automation resources to meet the County's business needs. We will use our experience, technical knowledge and innovative solutions to make the County a leader in practical, cost-effective automated systems. We add value through our knowledge of government, technology and project management in support of departmental services.

     Information technology encompasses the computers, the data communications network and the software, which runs on the computers, as well as telecommunications systems.  The Information Technology Strategic Plan identifies current configurations and project future needs. An interim update to the plan for 2005 and 2006 is available here. Within the technology environment, we recently assumed the centralized Geographic Information System (GIS) responsibilities for the County to include precision base map construction.  For more GIS information, please see Appendix F of the Information Technology Strategic Plan.
