OLYMPIC CONSORTIUM BOARD

FUNCTION |
|
The counties of Kitsap, Clallam and Jefferson formed a consortium
and were designated by the Governor as a Workforce Investment Area under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
of 1998, Public Law 105-220. The consortium's purpose is to plan, establish, and operate a comprehensive
employment and training system for unemployed and economically disadvantaged individuals.
The Board works with the Olympic
Workforce Development Council to guide policy and provide oversight for
local job training activities. The Kitsap County Department of Personnel
and Human Services is the consortium's administrative entity and
provides staff support to the Board. |

NUMBER OF MEMBERS / APPOINTMENT TERMS |

The Olympic Consortium Board was created as the executive
body of the consortium, and is composed of the nine county commissioners.
