ABOUT US |
| The Substance Abuse Prevention Program (KCSAAP)
was first established by the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners in
1990 to develop needed substance abuse prevention resources and to
support and assist with the coordination of existing prevention
programs and services for youth, families, schools and communities. |

PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE
|
- organizing and mobilizing community efforts to prevent substance abuse and violence
- technical assistance and funding for Mentor Programs
- resource information, community education and professional training
- funding for parent training and support programs
- funding for community/school based prevention projects and programs
|
|
THE PROGRAM ANNUALY PROVIDES OR SUBCONTRACTS FOR THE PROVISION OF |
- mentor and tutoring program services for approximately 140 youth
- out of school programming for over 500 teens
- family education services for approximately 700 parents and children
- community resource information and training services for approximately 3,000
social service providers and members of the general public
The program annually administers a total of $226,000 from federal and state sources.
Eleven contracts with local schools and agencies are currently in effect. |
