To receive services within the Salish Behavioral Health Organization, you have to meet entrance criteria which include financial eligibility. If you are a Medicaid recipient, you have the right to an intake evaluation to determine your eligibility for services. To request services, call the nearest Network Provider listed on this website.

Who is eligible for public behavioral health services?


In Washington State, individuals who are enrolled in the Medicaid program are automatically assigned to and are eligible to receive services from, one of nine Behavioral Health Organizations. Medicaid recipients who live in Kitsap, Jefferson and Clallam Counties are automatically enrolled in the Salish BHO.

• Live in Kitsap, Jefferson or Clallam county; and
• Have a medical identification card showing enrollment in a Medicaid program*; and
• Meet criteria for “medical necessity” for behavioral healthcare
• Meet “access to care standards”

*You may also be eligible for behavioral health services if you are low income individual with a chronic or serious mental illness or substance use disorder.

How do I access services in Salish BHO?
If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Crisis Services: The Crisis Clinic of the Peninsulas’ provides over-the-phone crisis intervention, information referral, and a supportive listening ear to people in our community who are experiencing situational distress.

*During business hours, your call will be answered by Discovery Behavioral Health (formerly Jefferson Mental Health Services).
