HIRING PROCESS
Kitsap County requires applicants to compete for positions.
A combination of examinations are used in the selection process to determine
which applicant best matches the position. Examinations include
questionnaires, written tests, oral tests, performance tests, application,
supplemental questionnaire, etc. An applicant must meet the minimum
qualifications to be considered for the position.
Employment Opportunity Posting Sheet
For each position advertised, a Employment Opportunity Posting Sheet is
provided. It is important that you review the sheet carefully to determine
if you meet the minimum qualifications before completing the application
packet and you have all documentation requested for each position.
Veteran's Preference
Pursuant to state law RCW 41.04.005 and RCW 41.04.010, special credit will
be added to passing scores of qualified veterans on open examinations, when
applicable.

Submit Your Application
Effective application packet materials are complete, comply with the
instructions on the job posting sheet, and are submitted by the published
closing date. Remember, applications mailed after or postmarked after the
closing date (unless postmarks are excepted for that specific position) will
not be accepted or considered. Kitsap County will not consider application
packets that are received with postage due. Some application packets may
require additional postage.
Any misrepresentation, incomplete and/or inaccurate information may be cause
for application rejection, removal from the employment list, and/or
discharge from County employment.
Status of Your Application
You should be notified by mail within 6 - 8 weeks of the closing date of your
application. If after that time period you have not received notification of
your status, please contact the Human Resource Analyst identified on the job
posting sheet.
