Sheriff's Civil Service Commission


              The Civil Service Commission will meet on Monday, January 23, 2017


Codified as Chapter 41.14 RCW, the statute requires counties to appoint a three-member Civil Service Commission, charged with establishing a merit system of employment for employees of the Sheriff's Office. The Commission is required to make rules and regulations detailing the manner in which examinations, appointments, promotions, reallocations, reinstatements, demotions, suspensions, and discharges shall be made. The Commission also hears and determines appeals on suspensions, demotions, and discharges.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office is now utilizing Public Safety Testing for Corrections Officer and Sheriff's Deputy entry level and lateral        positions.
