Anderson Point Park County Park Closed: Anderson Point County Park is closed to the public due to extensive weather-related damage. Click here for updates on Public comments and status reports Updated April 11, 2014. 

Viewpoint Park: The park will be closed for the winter season from October 1st, through March 31st. The access gate to the parking lot and park area are closed and locked during this time. 
What to Know Before You Go!  Changes in Hours / Availability 
County Lake Parks
Annually, from October 1 - March 31, Horseshoe Lake, Island Lake, Long Lake and Wildcat Lake County Parks are closed to the public for the winter season. Access gates to the parking lots and park areas are closed and locked during this time.

The
Bob Oke Long Lake Community Room and the John Horsley Island Lake Community Room are available to reserve during the winter season. Please contact our Parks and Recreation office at (360) 337-5350 to make arrangements. 

Camp McKean is located five miles west of Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton along the Kitsap Lake shoreline. The park is primarily for summer day use in support of Navy commands and authorized Fleet & Family Readiness patrons. The site includes a seasonal swimming beach, large pavilion, gazebo, upper picnic field with two shelters, restrooms, fire rings, BBQ grills, children’s playground, fishing pier, boat dock, sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pits. Boats carried from parking lot to the beach are allowed to launch, all other boats can use the public boat launch found on the south end of the lake.

Park Restrooms
Park restrooms are closed annually for the winter season from October 1st to March 31st.  Please plan accordingly when planning to visit a Kitsap County Park during the winter season.  
Port Orchard Village Greens Golf Course

Winter Hours
Annually, from October 1 - March 31, Horseshoe Lake, Island Lake, Long Lake and Wildcat Lake County Parks are closed to the public for the winter season. Access gates to the parking lots and park areas are closed and locked during this time. Park restrooms are closed annually for the winter season from October 1st to March 31st.

The John Horsley Island Lake and Long Lake Community Centers are available to reserve all year long.

Our Parks office located at 1195 NW Fairgrounds Rd in Bremerton is open 8:30am - 5pm Monday-Thursday (November-January).
Boater Safety
The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office is providing an educational class for county residents that will allow them to earn a Boater Safety Education Card from Washington State. Boater cards are required for those operating waterborne craft having motors with 15 horsepower or greater. 
Kitsap County Code: Restricted waterways. A. Internal combustion (i.e., gasoline and/or diesel) powered motor boats used for recreational purposes are not permitted at any time on any lake of less than twenty acres in area, or on the following waters: Buck Lake, Wye Lake, Island Lake, Carpenter Creek estuary upstream of South Kingston Road and the Curley Creek estuary upstream of Southworth Drive. B. Internal combustion (i.e., gasoline and/or diesel) powered motorboats used for recreational purposes are not permitted to exceed seven miles per hour on Mission Lake.  
Life jackets kiosks are located at Buck Lake Park, Island Lake Park, Wildcat Lake Park, Long Lake Park and Horseshoe Lake Park.
Salsbury Point Park  
The Boat Dock at Salsbury Point Park is installed annually in mid-April and removed October 28th. (weather and tide permitting). 
Kitsap Kids Playground  
Due to repeated vandalism, the restrooms at the Kitsap Kids Playground, located at the Kitsap Fairgrounds & Events Center, were closed indefinitely in July of 2008. A Sani-can is located near the playground. Updated May 2014.
