South Kitsap Regional Park: The new playground at the South Kitsap Regional Park, Jackson & Lund Roads, Port Orchard was dedicated on Saturday, April 23 at 11:00am, which is located at the Jackson Road entrance to the park.  It encompasses four different play areas that include many different types of climbing structures, six different slides and a full set of swings. This playground is ADA accessible.  

Anderson Point Park Closed:  Anderson Point County Park is closed until further notice due to extensive park roadway damage and hillside erosion from the December storm.  Updated December 30, 2011

Viewpoint Park:  The park will be closed for the winter season from October 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012. The access gate to the parking lot and park area are closed and locked during this time.

Anderson Point County Park

Anderson Point County Park is closed until further notice due to extensive park roadway damage and hillside erosion from the recent storm.  Updated December 30, 2011

County Lake Parks

Annually, from October 1 - March 31, Horseshoe Lake, Island Lake, Long Lake and Wildcat Lake County Parks are closed to the public for the winter season.  Access gates to the parking lots and park areas are closed and locked during this time.

The Bob Oke Long Lake Community Room and the John Horsley Island Lake Community Room are available to reserve during the winter season.  Please contact our Parks and Recreation office at (360) 337-5350 to make arrangements. 

Camp McKean on Kitsap Lake is another alternative that is open to  authorized patrons such as active duty military & family members, retirees & their family members, and DoD civilians.  Located 5 miles west of Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton, Camp McKean offers a fishing/boating dock, sand volleyball court, swimming beach and picnic facilities. Park Restrooms

Park restrooms are closed annually for the winter season from October 1st to March 31st.  Please plan accordingly when planning to visit a Kitsap County Park during the winter season.

Port Orchard Village Greens Golf Course

Currently, the Club House is open 8:00 a.m. -  4:00 p.m. daily.  Check the VG Golf Course page for more details!  For more information, please contact the Village Greens Golf Course at (360) 871-1222.

North Kitsap Heritage Park

Thanks to the efforts of the stewardship group, North Kitsap Heritage Park is now ready for use for walkers, hikers, runners and mountain bikers. The main entrance is located on the east side of Miller Bay Road about a mile north of Indianola Road. The parking area is limited to approx. 10 vehicles and will soon be improved. The Park includes 450 acres of second-growth forest with several miles of existing logging roads and new trails built by the stewardship group.  For more information, please read the press release.

Boater Safety

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office is providing an educational class for county residents that will allow them to earn a Boater Safety Education Card from Washington State. Boater cards are required for those operating waterborne craft having motors with15 horsepower or greater.

Salsbury Point Park

The Boat Dock is installed annually in mid-April and removed October 28th. (weather and tide permitting).

Kitsap Kids Playground

Due to repeated vandalism, the restrooms at the Kitsap Kids Playground, located at the Kitsap Fairgrounds & Events Center, were closed indefinitely in July of 2008.  Updated December 30, 2011

J.A. & Anna F. Smith Park

Due to erosion that has exposed dangerous and potentially harmful risks to the public, the beach area that is accessible from this park will be closed until further notice.  Posted June 1, 2008
