County Hosts Halloween Family Fun Night and Haunted
Barn
PORT ORCHARD, WA—The Kitsap County Department
of Facilities, Parks and Recreation is looking for community assistance for
the 11th Annual Halloween Family Fun Night and 3rd Annual Halloween
Haunted Barn. Donations of candy, cash, small toys and other fun
giveaways are appreciated and may be dropped off at the Givens Community
Center in Port Orchard or at the Facilities, Parks and Recreation Main
Office at the Kitsap Fairgrounds and Events Center. Individual volunteers,
service groups, employee groups and others are encouraged to help with
organizing or staffing carnival booths or assisting with set design, makeup,
costumes, tour guides and behind-the-scenes assistance.
The 11th Annual Halloween Family Fun Night is set for Monday,
October 31, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Givens Community Center in Port
Orchard. This free and fun event includes old-fashioned carnival games,
prizes and lots and lots of candy! The event is for children sixth grade
and younger accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The 3rd Annual Halloween Haunted Barn, entitled "Fairy Tales Gone
Wrong," will take place Friday and Saturday nights for two consecutive
weekends on October 21/22 and 28/29, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., in the Sheep
Barn at the Kitsap Fairgrounds and Events Center in Bremerton. The cost is
$5 per person and $1 off with a canned food donation to benefit a local food
bank. All ages are welcomed, and bring a friend or two if you dare!
