Commissioner Endresen Seeking Citizens Interested In
Art Board
PORT ORCHARD, WA—If
you are a local artist or knowledgeable in the arts, Kitsap County
Commissioner Chris Endresen would like to encourage you to apply for the
District #1 opening on the Art Board. The Art Board promotes and encourages
private and public programs that further public awareness and develop an
interest in the arts and cultural properties. The ordinance which
established the “1% for Art Program” tasked the Art Advisory Board with:
- Establishing a system of coordination with the County Capital
Improvement Program to ensure that works of art are integrated into
public facilities.
- Developing criteria for the selection of artists or works of art.
- Making recommendations to the Commissioners on any artists, works of
art or sites for public art funded by the Capital Improvement Program.
- Making recommendations to the Commissioners on the support of any
art programs and advising them on any arts or cultural properties and
programs.
Commissioner District 3 applicants are also being sought.
