County Meets United Way Goal
Two Officials Set to Shave Heads
PORT
ORCHARD, WA—The Kitsap County employees have met their $70,000
county United Way goal. Thanks to the generosity of staff, Ben Holland,
Director of Administrative Services, and Jim Avery, County Assessor, will
shave their heads on Wednesday, November 30, at 11:15 a.m. in the
Commissioners Chambers.
The grand total after all donations were collected was $70,580, which was
$9,382 more than last year’s total.
According to Avery, neither he nor Holland ever thought it would happen when
they offered the challenge, but both are "willing to make good on their
promise."
A celebration is scheduled in conjunction with the "head shaving" to recognize
the good work of the department coordinators and to watch Ben and Jim pay
off their bet!
