Commissioners Seeking Council for
Human Rights Applicants
PORT
ORCHARD, WA—If you live in Kitsap County Commissioner Endresen’s District #1
and are interested in serving your community as a member of the Council for
Human Rights, you are encouraged to apply for the current opening on the
council. The Kitsap Board of County Commissioners is seeking applicants to
fill the vacancy created by Vivian Morrison’s recent resignation.
The Council’s twelve members advise the County Commissioners on issues
related to prejudice, discrimination, racially motivated violence and
malicious harassment. The council promotes equitable treatment of all
citizens and works to reduce prejudice and its effects through prevention
policies, education, resource referrals, and advocacy. Together with the
Commissioners they sponsor the Annual Human Rights Conference.
Except in December, the Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month
at 6:00 p.m. Their meetings, which are open to the public, are held at John
Horsley Community Center, Island Lake County Park.
An Application may be obtained at Kitsap County Volunteer Services,
Department of Administrative Services, 614 Division Street, Port Orchard.
Application packets are available
online or by
mail. Please contact Jan Koske at (360) 337-4650 or
email. Applications must be
submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on December 30, 2005.
