Public Workshops to Discuss Future of Kitsap County

PORT ORCHARD, WA—The Kitsap County Department of Community Development needs your help in shaping Kitsap’s future! The public will have their first opportunity to tell county leaders about Your Vision for Kitsap’s future on March 23, 27 and 28. Vision statements express what citizens want their community to be and are the foundation for development of goals and policy guidance, as well as alternative land uses.

Kitsap County’s vision statement was adopted in 1998 with its Comprehensive Plan. The vision statement focuses on the natural environment, livable urban communities, quality services, range of housing choices, parks/recreation, healthy cities, economic development, civic/cultural activities, rural community character, varying transportation systems and responsive government. The Department of Community Development needs your help in reviewing these quality of life issues and identifying areas in need of refinement. Three workshops are currently scheduled for this Vision process and include:

North Kitsap
