Commissioners Seeking Planning
Commission Applicants
PORT
ORCHARD, WA—The Kitsap Board of County Commissioners are
accepting applications from citizens in Districts 1 and 2 who are interested
in being considered for an appointment to the Kitsap County Planning
Commission. The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community
Development in carrying out its responsibilities, including assistance in
the preparation and implementation of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The
nine citizens who make up the commission conduct public hearings and make
recommendations to the Department of Community Development and the Kitsap
Board of County Commissioners. Three members from each commissioner district
are appointed to serve four-year terms. Members may choose to receive $50
reimbursement/compensation for each meeting attended.
