Kitsap County property owners warned not to be misled by property deed
letter
PORT
ORCHARD, WA— Kitsap County property owners are warned not to be misled
from an official looking letter from “National Deed Service, Inc.” of
Washington DC. The letter says that for $59.50, the company will obtain a
copy of the property deed on behalf of the property owner, a document that’s
available for free from the Kitsap County website, or for the nominal fee of
$1 per page for uncertified copies or $3 per page for a certified copy.
Property owners can obtain a free uncertified copy of their property deed
from the Kitsap County website at http://kcwaimg.co.kitsap.wa.us/recorder/eagleweb/docsearch.jsp,
visit the Kitsap County Auditor’s Office in person at 614 Division Street,
Port Orchard, WA 98336, or call them at 360 337-4935.
The United States Postal Service is aware of the mailing from National Deed
Service, Inc. and says that the company is under investigation. According to
the company’s website www.nationaldeed.com, the company was founded 1988 by
Barry “Joe” Issacson and is currently providing services to property owners
in over twenty counties in nine states.
