Learn all about the Kitsap County budget – new brochure
available at Kitsap County libraries, county offices and website
PORT
ORCHARD, WA — Did you know that if you live in Kitsap County, less than
one-fourth of your property taxes actually go to the Kitsap County
government? If you live in a city, it’s even less, with under ten percent
going to the county. These and other facts about Kitsap County’s budget are
in the new “2007 Budget Summary” brochure, an easy-to-read, full-color
pamphlet that offers a comprehensive overview on the how, why and where
Kitsap County tax dollars are spent.
“It’s really
important for the citizens of Kitsap County to understand the budget and
this brochure presents the facts in a straightforward, easy-to-understand
manner,” Kitsap County Commission Chair Chris Endresen said. “We’re working
hard to inform and involve citizens in a meaningful way, and I feel this
brochure will help shed light on the budget challenges facing Kitsap
County.”
The budget brochure is being distributed to all Kitsap County Library
branches, and it is also available at all county offices, on the county
website at
www.kitsapgov.com/county/budget/KC_Budget_Brochure.pdf, or you can
request a copy by calling (360) 337-7150.
