Kitsap County issues emergency declaration, closes
offices and postpones tonight’s Board of Commissioners meeting to Wednesday,
Dec. 5 at 7 PM

ORCHARD, WA—Citing concern to public safety and property, Kitsap
County this morning issued an emergency declaration due to numerous road
closures and worsening weather conditions.
Kitsap County offices will be closed under standard inclement weather
policies for business for the remainder of the day.
Tonight’s regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting will be
postponed to Wednesday, Dec. 5th, 7 PM at the Kitsap County Administration
Building. 614 Division Street, Port Orchard.
“Public safety is our number one concern and while we sincerely apologize
for any inconvenience this may cause, we don’t want anyone to risk traveling
during these dangerous conditions,” Kitsap County Board of Commissioners
Chair Josh Brown said.
