Bremerton Girl Wins Fair Bicycle
(Port Orchard, WA) – Rachel Flowers of Bremerton, WA was recently
awarded the Pepsi-sponsored mountain bike displayed at the Kitsap County
Fair and Stampede 2008. Rachel and her family participated in the Kitsap
County Fair and Stampede Passport contest during fair and came away the big
winner during September’s drawing.
Washington State University Extension in Kitsap County created this youth
engaged passport booklet four years ago in order to increase agricultural
awareness during fair time. Fair visitors locate passport stations
throughout the fair and “stamp it up” for a chance to win. Arno
Bergstrom, Kitsap County Extension Director, said many parents commented on
how it got them around other areas of the fair they may not have previously
experienced. For your chance to experience the fair passport fun, look for
new passports distributed at the 2009 Kitsap County Fair and Stampede - Kick
It Up!
