Special Three-Day Filing Period

(Port Orchard) - The Kitsap County Auditor, Walter E. Washington, has announced a special three day filing period for candidates interested in running for Public Office for the following positions:

Port of Waterman District No. 16 Commissioner District 2
– 4 year unexpired term

Crystal Springs Water District No. 3 Commissioner Position 1
– 4 year unexpired term

Crystal Springs Water District No. 3 Commissioner Position 2
– 2 year unexpired term

Crystal Springs Water District No. 3 Commissioner Position 3
– short and 6 year term

Rocky Point Water District No. 12 Commissioner Position 3
 – 6 year term

Sunnyslope Water District No. 15 Commissioner Position 2
– 6 year term

Old Bangor Water District No. 19 Commissioner Position 1
– 4 year unexpired term

Old Bangor Water District No. 19 Commissioner Position 2
– 2 year unexpired term

Old Bangor Water District No. 19 Commissioner Position 3
– short and 6 year term

West Hill Water District No. 20 Commissioner Position 1
– 2 year unexpired term

West Hill Water District No. 20 Commissioner Position 2
 Short and 6 year term

West Hill Water District No. 20 Commissioner Position 3
– 4 year unexpired term

The special filing period will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2009 and end at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Candidate filings for this special three day filing period will be accepted in the Auditor’s Elections Office at 619 Division Street in Port Orchard.

This special filing period has been called because no candidate has filed for these positions during the regular filing period and is held in compliance with RCW 29A.24.171. Any registered voter residing within the district is eligible to file for one of the nonpartisan positions.
