Wetland Enhancement Activity at Schold Farm in
Silverdale
(Port Orchard, WA)- Construction has commenced on a wetland
enhancement project at Kitsap County’s Schold Farm property in Silverdale.
The project includes creation of new wetlands and habitat features to
mitigate for wetland impacts at the new YMCA site in Silverdale.
Construction activities will include earthwork in the field area and
removal of a culvert near the main trail intersection, located west of and
downhill from the Schold Road trailhead.
Construction and habitat enhancement activities are planned to occur
through the months of August, September and October, and will result in
temporary disruption of a connector trail located southwest of the main
trail intersection.
