Yard Waste Amnesty—Corrected Information
Incorrect information was distributed previously in some local newspapers.
The only yard waste amnesty currently scheduled will take place Saturday,
October 16 at Emu Composting Facility in Hansville. Yard waste brought
to other facilities will be charged the regular fee.
No railroad ties, garbage, plastics, scrap metal or
household hazardous waste is accepted.

Day at Emu Composting Facility
(Port Orchard, WA) – Kitsap County residents may bring
yard waste to the Yard Waste Amnesty Day at Emu Composting Facility on
Saturday, October 16th. There will be no fees charged to residential
customers for this event.
7890 NE Ecology Road (off Hansville Rd.)
October 16, 2010
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Businesses, landscapers, or commercial vehicles are charged at normal
rate. There is no volume restriction for residential customers.
Materials NOT accepted:

cover and secure your load.
Fines range from a $216 traffic violation to
$5,000 fine or up to one year in
jail if something falls out of your vehicle and causes
Recycle and Garbage facilities will not accept yard waste for free
Customers are responsible for unloading their own materials.

burn ban areas.

This program is part of an ongoing effort by Kitsap
County Public Works to provide recycling alternatives to outdoor burning.
The public may recycle their yard waste at Emu Composting Facility year
