Commisioners name Gelder to fill District #1 vacancy
(Port Orchard, WA) - Robert Gelder was
selected to fill the District #1 Commissioner vacancy created by
Commissioner Steve Bauer’s departure. Gelder was the first choice of the
three nominees forwarded by the precinct committee officers. “I'm
honored to have been chosen to represent and work for the citizens of
Kitsap County," explained Gelder. "This is an important time for our
County, and the challenges are great,” Gelder added. “Robert has taken
the initiative to learn about the County budget process, and his skills
working with others managing budgets and staff serve our County well”
said Charlotte Garrido, Chair of the Board of County Commissioners.
“Robert’s experience and understanding of County issues helps him hit the
ground running,” added Commissioner Josh Brown.
Gelder takes the oath of office tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the
Commissioner’s Chambers in the Administration Building in Port Orchard.
The regular Board of County Commissioner meeting follows at 7:00 p.m.
