South Kitsap Regional Park Playground Opening

(Port Orchard, WA) Kitsap County Parks and Recreation  officially opens their newest playground Saturday, April 23 at South Kitsap Regional Park. Please join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the opening of the playground at 11:00 a.m., prior to the annual children’s Easter egg hunt. The playground is located near the park entrance off Jackson Road entrance to the park.

“This playground is really a showpiece for Kitsap County,” said Commissioner Charlotte Garrido.  “It’s the first phase of some ambitious plans for this park, and the playground’s interactive equipment with the focus on ADA accessibility makes it a place we can all be proud of.”

The new playground encompasses four different play areas and includes many different types of climbing structures, six different slides and a full set of swings. As children continue to grow, so do the skills they learn on the playground. From agility and strength-building to socialization and independence, some of our most important lifelong lessons are learned on the playground. Please join us to celebrate, learn, and play!
