Open House May 18th to discuss the alternatives for
Banner Road SE

     What:      Banner Road SE Alternatives

     Where:   Olalla Community Club
                    12970 Olalla Valley Road SE

     When:     Wednesday, May 18th (6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)

Port Orchard, WA)- The Kitsap County Department of Public Works is performing an Alternatives Analysis to determine the future of the southern quarter mile of Banner Road SE between Olalla Valley Road SE and SE Banfill Road.  This section of high bank waterfront has two narrow 9-foot
lanes without shoulders, and is subjected to on-going settlement and slides from loose fill soils below the roadway and sloughing of the steep slope
above the road.
An open-house style meeting is scheduled for May 18th to discuss the top three alternatives that will be further evaluated in order to decide the future of Banner Road SE.  This is the second Open House for this project.  At the first Open House in October, County staff presented a long list of alternatives for public input.  At this Open House, County staff and representatives from their consultant will display the three alternatives being studied further, solicit comments, and answer questions.  “Based on community feedback and an evaluation of the alternatives using specific criteria, we’ve cut the list of alternatives from 12 to 3,” said Bill Edwards, Traffic Engineer for Kitsap County Public Works. Residents are encouraged to stop by anytime during the two hours
